Extension → Sales and Revenue Estimates

The Extension typically has the most up-to-date product data since sales estimates are fetched whenever you scan the page. We use the most up-to-date data points, process them through our estimation engine (AccuSales™), and return estimates based on that information.

Sales and revenue estimates in Extension (as well as the Product Database) are based on the ASIN's sales and revenue data from the last rolling 30-day period.

For example, if you run the extension to look at a product, the monthly sales estimate is not a forecast for how much it will sell in the current month, but an indication of how much it has sold in the last 30 days, regardless of where we are in the month.

Variations

Variations can be a little tricky! When a product has variations, there are actually two ways Jungle Scout estimates their sales and revenue.

For those products whose variations have their own Best Seller Rank (BSR):

We estimate the item's sales independently of the other variations' sales. To see those variations and their individual estimates, you have to go directly to the product's listing.

The variations will be represented by an indented arrow to the left of each variation's title:

For those products whose variations all have the same BSR:

Because Amazon does not indicate how those items sell differently from one another, we can't calculate the estimated sales and revenue for the variations.

In cases like this, we display the estimated sales for the product's entire listing (all variations combined) on each line:
