AccuSales™ is Jungle Scout's unit sales estimation engine, a tailor-made Amazon sales estimation algorithm we use to calculate sales and revenue numbers.
First of all, it's important to note that we process over 500 million data points of data each and every day. We gather it from a variety of sources, but the one that is most unique is the data we get from actual Amazon sellers who have opted in to share their sales info with us.
Also, our data looks at more than inventory and rank information. We take into account product information as well, since it helps us determine which pieces can impact sales.
Secondly, we have a team of extremely talented and intelligent developers and data scientists (2 Ph.D.’s, 2 MSc’s, and four BSc’s between them!), working on our AccuSales™ equations since the summer of 2017...non-stop!
Since then, our team has created specialized systems and algorithms that provide our members with reliable and accurate estimates.
Finally, our algorithms - which generate our estimates - are updated on an as-needed basis.
This means that as we collect the data required to populate the estimates you see in Jungle Scout, our systems analyze and test it daily. If and when the systems spot a significant variance in the data, which could affect the potency of the algorithms, our systems update the final estimated sales immediately.
During times of high fluctuation, that means estimates could be updated daily. But when there is more stability, the updates might happen on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Ultimately, these modifications lead to more accurate sales estimates.
