The Embedded Product Data graphs allow you to view historical data points in order to better understand products on Amazon and ultimately make better business decisions.
If you don't have embedded data enabled, you can do this directly from the Amazon results page or from the Customize View menu in the extension.
From the Amazon Results Page:
- Hover over the summary box
- Click the X on the top, right-hand corner
- Click Close
From the Extension:
- Click Menu → Customize View
- Move the slider to the left: “Off” position
Once enabled, you will see an additional tab labeled Historical Trend on Amazon Product detail pages. This graph includes 8 additional data points:
- Buy Box price → Price offered by the Buy Box Seller on the specific day
- New lowest price → Lowest new price by a third-party seller or Amazon (shipping not included)
- Amazon price → Historical prices of the product when sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Gaps in the graph indicate periods where Amazon did not offer the product (for example, the product being out of stock)
- Daily Sales → Sales for the specific date
- New offer count → The number of sellers on the listing for that specific ASIN
- BSR → Sales rank for the date in question
- Review count → Number of product reviews for that specific day
- Rating count → Average rating for the day
In addition, you can view historical data by selecting the following timeframes:
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 1 year
- 2 years
The following 3 data points will be enabled by default even if you deselect them from the list:
- Buy box
- Sales rank
- Daily sales
Understanding the Graph
- The graph will reflect the new changes as soon as a new data point is selected:
- You can then hover over the graph to see detailed information for each available date:
- The order of the data points displayed in the box for the corresponding date varies depending on the order of the information displayed in the y axis of the graph. For example:
In this case, we can see that the line for the Buy box price (orange) is the first data point shown in the graph, followed by the Review count (purple line), BSR (blue line), and Daily sales (turquoise line). The New lowest price data point is unavailable for this specific product when more than one unavailable data point has been selected, these will be ordered according to the legend on the right:
Please keep in mind that there might be some historical data missing at times. If available, it might be populated after a while so do check back!
Also, at the moment, data points under the "Historical Trend" tab are only available for the US, UK, and ES marketplaces. Check back soon to see if your marketplace is supported in the future!
