Previously, we displayed sales estimates for variant ASINs when a unique Best Seller Rank (BSR) was assigned to that variant within the parent category.
This meant that if a specific size, color, or style had its own BSR, you could view an estimated sales figure just for that variant.
Now, sales estimates are shown only at the parent ASIN level. This means that the presented estimates are for the entire listing. Variant-level estimates are no longer provided, even if a variant has a unique BSR.
Why was this change made?
We updated how sales estimates are displayed to:
- Improve consistency: BSR data can fluctuate frequently, causing confusion about which variants had unique sales estimates.
- Reduce inaccuracies: Variant-level estimates were sometimes less reliable due to catalog updates or merged listings.
- Simplify reporting: Parent-level sales estimates provide a clearer overview of total demand.
